Golfers compete by themselves against another golfer. The golfer with the lowest score on each home gets a point. If you tie a whole, you split the point. Golfer with the most points wins the match.

Adam Pestche
2024
Like a Celtic warrior storming back to his homeland, Pestche arrived in St. Andrews to conquer the field and pillage the green jacket. In his Drawshank debut, the bearded Irishman used his "totally legitimate" handicap to catapult himself to victory. Scotland had its king back while the rest of us had formal complaints filed with GIHN.
Dan Myhrberg
2024
Myhrberg started 2024 falling back to last place after 36 quick holes. With his back against the wall, he ditched the electrolytes and water, powering himself solely off Fireball nips for the remaining 48 hours. Shooting a final round net 64, Dan slid his way into a playoff and our putt Stuiso for the green jacket.
Ethan Latinsky
2023
Dressed like a 1910 chimney sweep, Latinsky teed off Sunday 15 strokes behind Richards. Going with a bold strategy, Richards set out to do the unthinkable - play sober golf - and got bit in the snake pit. Latinsky powered through & wrote himself into the Drawshank history books as the first ever two-time champion.
Kevin Hall
2022
Wearing the most insulting outfit Arrowhead GC has ever seen, Hall found his game when it most counted during the stroke play round. Riding the backs of his top 2 ranked partners, he coasted into the final group Sunday sporting tye dye crocks, high socks, and unfortunately, a green jacket.
Ethan Latinsky
2021
A questionable handicap combined with his “4 best rounds of golf ever” put this Denver dude in the winner’s circle. Latinsky’s win is a win for the group, resulting in our first non-EST golf trip and the birth of our new, very official handicap reporting system.
Tony Sasso
2020
This New Yorker turned South Tampanian (is there a worse combo?) successfully drank his way into the jacket. While no one knew it from his play, his exclusive line of Palma Ceia apparel reminded us we were in the presence of country club royalty all weekend.
Dan Myhrberg
2019
Having the support of the entire field, Myhrberg fought off the Sunday-charging Richards to prevent a back-to-back victory. As the first soul-less owner of the green jacket, he proved he has what it takes no matter the SPF.
Seth Richards
2018
Richards came to NC with vengence running through his veins. He holds the largest victory in Drawshank history. A 13 stroke margin earned him the jacket on the 18th green with no one needing to tally the scores.
Danny Bishop
2017
Bishop came in as a Drawshank greenhorn with a questionable handicap and took full advantage. Outpacing his brother by 1 stroke, he became the first human to slip his skinny little arms inside the oversized thrift store green jacket.
Phil Anderson
2016
Playing the best golf of his life, Anderson took home the very first green jacket title, before we even had a jacket. Bombs, darts, and chip-ins, he had it all that one June weekend and to this day, he is still searching for that game.
RULES
We play by all USGA rules with these exceptions:
- The Beer Rule: Every 3 beers/shots = 1 stroke off your score, for that round. Max 1 drink per hole. Keep track of drinks, playing partners must confirm amount.
- If you miss your tee time, you’ll be assessed a double-bogey for every hole missed. (May be an advantage for some)
- In order to speed up play off the first tee, there are no breakfast balls.
- However, each player gets 1 mulligan on the front nine AND 1 mulligan on the back nine, for tee shots only. Once you use a mulli, you can no longer play your first ball, even if your mulli is worse.
- Out of bounds off the tee does not require re-tee. Find the point the ball crossed out, take 2 club lengths, and hit your 3rd stroke.
- Give me putts must be conceded by all playing partners.
- The maximum score for each hole is double par.
THE HISTORY
The Drawshank Redemption started in 2016 as a group of 6 past-their-prime ultimate frisbee players looking for another sport they could compete in. Over the years it’s grown into a hodge-podge of friends, friends of friends, and new recruits from our local State Farm insurance agent.
In the past 7 years, we’ve competed in Florida four times and traveled out of state 3 times to Murphy, Myrtle Beach, and Denver. While our cast of golfers changes every year, our mission is simple: keep golf fun, no matter how many beers that may take.
